A simple expression I cooked up to reveal type one letter per frame.

There are 2 versions in the comp; one just reveals each letter, the other does a random letter at the leading edge of the reveal.

Both have a slider in the effects controls that determine the speed of the reveal. 100 is 1 character per frame. 50 would be half the speed, 200 would be twice the speed.

They both fade out over 2 seconds toward the outpoint.

No keyframes, just put the type where and when you want in the comp, cut and paste your text into the text object by double clicking it in the timeline and bingo...AutoType!

I created this out of frustration with the 'Typewriter' preset, which relied on key frames.
